The second edition of the PENGASSAN Energy and Labour Summit, PEALS 2023, kicked off today October 9th, 2023 at the Transcorp Hilton Abuja. 
In his welcome address, the President of the Association, Comrade Festus Osifo, stated the challenges and opportunities inherent in our energy sector. He spoke on the significance of this year's summit titled “Petroleum Downstream Deregulation and Gas Utilization”, and emphasized that this platform created by the Summit is intended to foster dialogue, collaboration, and action toward a brighter and more sustainable energy future.
Mele Kyari, the Group CEO of NNPC Limited, delivered a keynote address on the “Vision for Deregulation and Gas Utilization for Sustainable Energy in Nigeria”. He discussed the significance of utilizing cleaner energy sources such as CNG to reduce PMS pressure.
Other dignitaries like the Senate President, represented by Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, the Honorable Minister of Labour & Employment, Simon Lalong, and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation represented by Simon Jingo gave their goodwill messages and commended the Association for her contribution to solving national issues.
