In a bid to localize the critical manpower of the petroleum industry, the Petroleum Training Institute - PTI was established fifty years ago. 
As the global energy sector shifts from fossil-based systems of energy production to renewable energy sources, PTI will be involved in developing manpower and technology for  Nigeria’s energy transition. 
Today, the President of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN), Comrade Festus Osifo joined the Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, the CEO of NNPCL, and other dignitaries to celebrate the golden anniversary of the Institute.
