Last Month, PENGASSAN joined 179 unions from 64 countries for the IndustriALL Mid-Term Policy Conference, held in South Africa.
In the four break-out sessions, participants had the opportunity to hear and strategize on addressing growing inequalities in the world, building Union power through organizing, developing plans towards companies and brands, and lastly shaping our future through Just Transition.
The IndustriALL General Secretary Atle Hoie said that the Mid-Term Policy Conference gives the global Union a good idea of the status of her affiliates.
The Deputy General Secretary of PENGASSAN, Comrade Ngozi Okagbue spoke about the indigenous oil and gas companies and their resistance to the Union’s efforts to organize their workers.
A working group will develop a document from the conclusions reached at the sessions.
